He began working with washed coffees in 2005 before expanding into natural processing in 2010, continually investing in quality and infrastructure along the way. Today, he owns a washing station and dry processing site in Aricha and Ella Telicha, with 2.2 hectares dedicated to processing and enough space for 240 raised drying beds. In addition, he manages his own 3.5 hectare coffee farm in Ella Telicha.

Beyond producing exceptional coffee, Ashenafi is deeply committed to supporting his local community. Alongside purchasing cherries from neighboring smallholder farmers, he provides compost to local coffee growers to help improve farm productivity. His contributions also extend beyond coffee. He funded the construction of a community meeting hall in the nearby Ella Telicha kebele and built three homes for elderly residents. His dedication to both quality coffee and community development reflects the strong spirit of collaboration that has long been a part of Ethiopian coffee culture.

...

If you’re local to the Bay Area, you can pick up your order for free at the CoRo Roastery (not the café).
